Multicultural patterns workshop on High Street

The proposed site is in Whalmtoston-a North-West area of London. The exact location is on High Street which is famous for its market. The street is a
multicultural, exciting venue with a lot of multicultural cafes and shops.
CONTEXT:
At the moment, mainly locals go there and I would like to bring in more young and promising Start Ups to make the street and the area more dynamic and friendly for visitors with different nationalities.

At the moment, mainly locals go there and I would like to bring in more young and promising Start Ups to make the street and the area more dynamic and friendly for visitors with different nationalities.
SITE:
Amongst two proposed sites I chose the west one for a number of reasons: it is more open and inviting and eye-catching for general public. (The second site is narrower which did not seem to be appropriate for my project, as it is all about being explicitly open and public). However, there are some constrains. Firstly, because of being very open, the site is less private and potentially noisier and there is a vast parking area, which at the moment I think is not very attractive.
IDEA/CONCEPT:
After analyzing the site, I found out that the street is very multicultural and there are plenty of fabric shops on the street, therefore, my project is inspired by the theme of multicultural fabrics which I am going to explore through a fabrics workshop. I would like my building to reflect the idea of different cultures doing different activities connected to fabric production, which all together are interdepend and therefore create a complex interdependent structure.
PROGRAMME/FUNCTIONS:
In my design I would like to create journeys through my workshop linking different rooms with different activities. The rooms will be as follows: workshop-gallery-atrium/market.
The idea of interdependence is technically reflected in the fact that none of these parts can be taken away, because the whole structure will collapse. This technical principle is reflecting the idea of an interdependent community.

Concept: linking different nationalities to matereals from those countries. The site has many shops and restaurants with owners from different countries. I am incorporating materials specific to these countries into the workshop design. Each room will be made out of a specific material.
